I am pretty sure they do. I don't know by experience b/c when I have gone into the pig...it is b/c we were on our way out to the lake & had to pick up stuff to take on "the boat". I don't see why they wouldn't.

I was really disappointed on this one. But I did get 25$ off of my total bill with newspaper and Internet IPs.

Hey...don't laugh at The Pig!! You'd say it too b/c Piggly Wiggly is too long to say! My cousin thinks it is hilarious b/c they don't have them where he is from, either. He calls it Piggy Wiggle. They make the best cakes...well at least here they do.

When we went to Mardi Gras we stopped at a McEd's and there was a Piggly Wiggly next door. Only reason I remember is because someone had to make a pit stop there. And they totally looked at us like foreigners at McEd's. The girl said very slowly Ya'll Goin' to Mardi Gras? LOL. Of course that's not nearly as funny as why we ended up at McEd's in the first place. We went to Waffle House first but we all felt a little out of place just sitting there waiting for a table as the cooked and one of the waitresses yelled back and forth at each other about grits. It was then that we all realized we were no longer in Oz!

Thats funny I have never in my life considered that fact that the word "piggly wiggly" sounds funny because I've heard it since i was a kid. It suddenly just hit me like a ton of bricks hearing you pick on it that it is such a strange name.

So you think the Mcdonalds people were exagerating there accent because yall were tourists or do you really see that big of a difference in the way southerners talk??

This is something I've always heard America make jokes about but I dont think ive ever noticed it myself. Once again like the piggly wiggly thing immersion has numbed me!!

Amanda, I really don't think people exaggerate the difference. I have a friend that moved from Canada (born and raised) to SC...then onto AL. She & her family would have me talk nonstop b/c they just loved the way it sounded. I felt like a freak show at first...until I started doing the same thing back to them...Aye!!!
